Webster, TX - Clear Lake Regional Medical Center (CLRMC) employees joined the American Heart Association’s national movement to help end heart disease and stroke in women by showing off their red threads on “National Wear Red Day” today.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women, taking the life of one in three every year. The “Go Red for Women” campaign aims to boost awareness and reduce those alarming statistics.
“Prevention and awareness is crucial when it comes to fighting heart disease,” said Laura Williams, Director of Cath Lab and CV Prep at the Heart & Vascular Hospital of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center. “We look forward to this event every year and are proud to join this nationwide effort to educate women – and their loved ones – about heart disease.”
Heart Month activities at CLRMC include:
- Friday, February 6 – Go Red Day at CLRMC
- Thursday, February 19 – Heart Health Education to CCISD teachers
- Wednesday, February 25 – Presentation on healthy eating following by a cooking demo at CLRMC
