Our experienced labor and delivery team understands the needs of expectant families, and delivers expert, compassionate, family-centered care every day.
Maternity care we provide
Our hospital has been recognized by Healthgrades with a five-star specialty-care rating for vaginal delivery, c-section delivery and gynecological procedures. Additionally, we have received Healthgrades awards for Labor and Delivery Excellence, Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence and Gynecological Surgery Excellence. We are also a designated Texas Ten Step Program, meaning our maternity care practices fully support breastfeeding.
These designations indicate that when your big day arrives, we are ready to care for you and your family. After your baby's birth, you will be transferred to a private room in our postpartum unit, a specialized unit dedicated to the care and recovery of new mothers and babies. If needed, we also have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which provides specialty care for babies born before the 26th week of gestation.
We support the bonding experience with skin-to-skin contact between mom and baby within the first hour of life. We also provide bedside infant and mother care to ensure 24/7 rooming-in. If required, we also have a newborn nursery available. For breastfeeding mothers, our board certified lactation consultants are always available. Other support services we have include:

If you are considering delivering at HCA Houston Clear Lake, we invite you to tour our women's services facility, or find an OB/GYN. In addition, we offer women's health services related to breast health and gynecology, such as classes, support groups and tours to help prepare for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and parenthood. All instructors are registered nurses (RNs) specializing in parent and infant care and are certified in Lamaze childbirth education.
